The first Jake Paul MMA showdown is shaping up to be an epic spectacle, and the PFL is pulling out all the stops to make it a blockbuster event. But hold onto your seats because there’s drama in the cage!

Rumor has it that one athlete who wanted to give “The Problem Child” a proper cage welcome was none other than the ex-WWE superstar, Matt Riddle.

Riddle parted ways with WWE amidst whirlwind of controversy back in September. Since then, he’s been testing his mettle in various arenas, even toying with the idea of a return to MMA, where he once fought for the UFC.

But here’s the twist: according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jake Paul turned down Riddle’s MMA challenge. Why, you ask? Well, it seems Jake wasn’t too keen on stepping into the octagon against someone with Riddle’s UFC experience. Can you blame him?

Meltzer reported, “Matt Riddle and his reps spoke directly to Jake Paul of late regarding doing a match. Paul expressed no interest in facing Riddle under MMA rules, where Riddle would have the experience edge even though he hasn’t been active or trained for fighting for years. Riddle was willing to do a boxing match, and at this point, it’s up to Paul’s side, which obviously it always would be since he’s the A-side.”

But don’t count out Jake Paul just yet, folks. He might be making waves in the world of MMA someday, but right now, he’s laser-focused on his boxing career. He’s got a date with destiny, going toe-to-toe with professional boxer Andre August, aiming for a shot at a world title. It’s a battle for the ages!

So, wrestling fans, keep your eyes peeled because the world of combat sports is never short on drama, and the Jake Paul saga is just heating up. Will he ever step into the MMA cage? Only time will tell. For now, we’ve got a boxing showdown to look forward to.
