WWE and Warner Brothers Discovery may be able to break the pro wrestling world wide open with an upcoming deal. There are a lot of rumors going around right now saying that a WBD network may be the next home of WWE RAW. It seems that WBD has been interested in WWE for a while.

WWE entered into new phase in the company’s history when Vince McMahon returned from his “retirement” to bring the company into sales talks. Of course, they went with UFC merger with Endeavor to form TKO Group Holdings, but there were other players in those discussions.

During his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff stated that there was time when Warner Bros Discovery wanted to buy WWE. Now, they are in talks about a possible RAW television deal.

WBD expressed a strong interest in WWE and its programming going back to the announcement early this year that WWE was for sale. My strong opinion is that WBD was actively engaged in a discussion to acquire WWE, along with others. Formally in the process.”

“I think this conversation between WBD and WWE would have happened anyway. Whether CM Punk’s return, but WWE turned on a dime, and now we hear all this sh*t going on, chatter, if you will.”

It has long been speculated that WBD owns piece of AEW. Although Tony Khan has never confirmed or denied that claim, he did make it known that he has the final say in all AEW creative. That was a way of answering the question without really answering it.

We will have to see if WWE and WBD can work out a television deal. That could be a blockbuster announcement that could spell bad things down the line for Tony Khan’s company. Only time will tell how it all shakes out as television deals close out for 2024.

What’s your take on AEW possibly losing their spot in WBD thanks to WWE? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
