Grayson Waller Aims to Test His Mic Skills Against CM Punk in a Promo Clash

Grayson Waller established himself as one of the must-see stars during his time in NXT. The Australian is now a mainstay of Friday Night SmackDown and loves putting his money where his mouth is. Speaking of his mouth, Waller is a great talker and now he wants to do a promo battle with CM Punk.

CM Punk has been on a roll after returning to WWE at Survivor Series last month and he has become progressively a bigger draw with every passing day, as fans continue to get more and more excited when they see him.

So far, CM Punk has cut four promos since his return to WWE and most of them have set the world on fire, as fans simply loved his promos. That said, many want a piece of The Second City Saint.

While speaking to Justin LaBar of Busted Open Radio, Grayson Waller was asked about CM Punk’s WWE return. The Australian Superstar made it clear he wants to do a promo battle with CM Punk in order to test himself, but he also didn’t rule out a match either.

“It’s great to have Punk back because obviously he’s a big name, he’s a big star. I got to sit backstage at SmackDown last Friday and sit in the Gorilla position and watch him go out and talk. It’s a different vibe. For me personally, I’m not going to go and ask for advice and kiss his arse. That’s not who I am. But I am going to sit back and watch him do it and I’m going to take some notes in my head. That promo he did on Friday, especially hearing the live crowd and everything, was cool.

I want to test myself against him. Not just in the ring, but on the mic because that guy’s one of the best of all time… So I appreciate what you’ve done for the business, but I’m not here to be your fanboy, I’m here to be a competitor.”

An argument was also made that CM Punk should have limited schedule in order to preserve his star power. Only time will tell whether The Second City Saint and Grayson Waller will duke it out in a promo battle.
