Roman Reigns has established himself as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. The Tribal Chief has only been pinned once in almost four years and it is unlikely he will be defeated anytime soon. He also has many supporters, including Gunther, who believes Reigns earned the right to sparingly defend his titles.

The Tribal Chief has made sporadic appearances on WWE television throughout 2023 and competed in even fewer matches. In fact, he has only competed in 11 matches for this year.

Therefore, he has defended his title once a month on average, barring Night of Champions and Money In The Bank. While speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Gunther stated that he believes Roman Reigns earned the right to sparingly defend his titles.

A new title is like a start-up–only one in ten is going to succeed. It’s a very difficult spot to be a newly crowned champion of a new title, which means you’re the one to have to put in the work to establish it and add some prestige to it. I think he’s doing an excellent job. He’s one of the best we have.”

Roman Reigns’ continued absence has also raised concerns for his appearance at an upcoming Premium Live Event. An ex-WWE star also claimed that feuding with Roman Reigns kills careers. We’ll have to see when Reigns will return to WWE television, as it might still be a while.
