Jake Roberts has seen lot in his career, both inside and outside the ring. The Snake traveled the world, taking bookings all over the place after his time in WWE was over. All of those dates on the road results in a plethora of stories to tell.

Jake Roberts is able to see the pro wrestling world through a unique mindset. There were many times when he may have thought that a return to the spotlight wouldn’t be possible. Now, he is a part of AEW, and sharing a locker room with some great people, including fellow WWE Hall of Famer Sting.

In an interview conducted with WrestlingNews, Jake “The Snake” Roberts discussed the retirement of Sting at AEW Revolution 2024. Sting and Roberts have a history dating back to a brief program they had in WCW in 1992. Roberts shared his thoughts on Sting’s retirement during the interview.

“He stretched it out for a long time. He’s got more miles in than I did. There comes a time when you know it’s time and I think he knows what he’s doing. He’s weathered a lot of storms and I think he’s come to that place where he feels comfortable getting away from it. If he feels like it, it’s up to him.”

The WWE Hall of Famer then went on to reveal a couple interesting places he wrestled back in the day. One was in front of 12 people at a private show on top of a building. Another was in the middle of an illegal cock-fighting situation.

“On top of a department store in Tokyo. We were about 25 floors up so it was pretty odd and what makes it even crazier is there were only like 12 people there for a whole wrestling show. Then at the end of it, I found out that the owner of the building had requested a show for himself and his family, so he paid for it.”

I’ve got one more. It was a cockfighting compound. Literally, whenever you came up on this place, it was out in the sticks, down in the hollow, and when you came up on it, there was a large crow’s nest with automatic weapons. It was well guarded.”

Jake “The Snake” Roberts is presently employed by AEW as the manager for Lance Archer and The Righteous. We will have to see what happens next in his career, but odds are he is finished taking crazy bookings at this stage of his career.
