Vince McMahon was known for his blow-ups backstage and the unique way he ran WWE. Now, he is no longer running the operation, and there are many stories to tell about the times he was in Gorilla Position.

Mace, who was released from WWE in September, recently shared insights into a memorable moment involving Vince McMahon during WWE Hell in a Cell in 2019. This revelation came during a Q&A session on Reddit where Mace and Mansoor engaged with the r/SquaredCircle community.

When discussing their favorite matches that they had commented on, Mace reminisced about his time as a commentator on Raw, working alongside Vic Joseph and Jerry Lawler. In particular, he pointed to the October 2019 edition of WWE Hell in a Cell, where he provided commentary for the controversial bout between Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins. According to Mace, this match stood out as one of his most memorable commentating experiences.

“I remember Vince yelling at me to stop trying to explain the finish and then the crowd threw trash at us as we left lmaooo.”

The match’s reception was far from positive, and Rollins discussed his reaction to the finish in September 2021 during an appearance on The Broken Skull Sessions. He expressed his frustration, mentioning that he was “ready to strangle Vince McMahon,” and Tyson Kidd had to intervene to prevent any altercation.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer gave the match a low rating of -2 stars. In the match’s closing moments, Rollins unleashed a series of attacks on The Fiend, including a stomp, a pedigree, and the use of various objects like a steel chair, ladder, toolbox, and a sledgehammer. Following this onslaught, the referee signaled for the bell, and Wyatt was stretchered away, only to return to attack Rollins after the match had concluded.

We will have to see what the pro wrestling world has in store for Mace and Mansoor next, but they certainly have a lot of stories to tell during their time in WWE.
