CM Punk did not show up at Bound For Glory as some fans thought, but there may be a chance of him going to the company anyway, at least that is what the rumor mill is suggesting. Ace Steel is with Impact Wrestling now, and he is receiving rave reviews. Now, we have a bit more information about what’s going on.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, Impact Wrestling wanted to bring Ace Steel in as a producer when he was fired from AEW the first time. CM Punk wasn’t even an option to go to Impact Wrestling at that point.

It was also noted that those close to CM Punk said it is doubtful that he would want to come in and wrestle for Impact Wrestling. The amount of money that he would require is also an obstacle.

A few weeks ago, those close to Punk claimed they didn’t think he’d want to join the company, but also said that if he woke up one day and just decided he wanted to wrestle Josh Alexander or Motor City Machine Guns, he likely could if he wanted to, with another person in touch with Punk saying he would under the right circumstances. A big hurdle on the surface and the outside looking in would be the salary, as Punk in AEW was annually making about 15-20 times what a lot of the top IMPACT wrestlers were making.

We will have to see what happens in this situation, because Impact Wrestling would probably love to have CM Punk around. They are rebranding back to TNA Wrestling, so CM Punk could be a real shot in the arm for them. That being said, it doesn’t look like there is any momentum in that direction.

CM Punk was spotted backstage at the recent Impact Wrestling television tapings. So, he is obviously welcomed in that roster. Only time will tell if he laces up his boots for the company.
