WWE lost The Rock to Hollywood, and this was a devastating blow for the company. They had to watch Dwayne Johnson go into his own business as he captured the silver screen time and time again. Ric Flair saw that great transition, and he believes that disqualified The Great One from his own Mount Rushmore.

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently discussed why The Rock is absent from his wrestling Mount Rushmore. He believes that Dwayne Johnson’s departure to Hollywood nixes The People’s Champion’s place on his own personal list of honored wrestlers.

The Rock and Ric Flair are prominent figures in WWE history, boasting numerous championships. Although Flair has retired from the ring, The Rock recently returned to confront Austin Theory on SmackDown, and he is still in the rumor mill to face Roman Reigns in the future.

While many wrestlers include The Rock in their wrestling Mount Rushmore, Ric Flair said on The Breakfast Club that The Rock didn’t make his list. Flair stated that The Rock earned a place in his Mount Rushmore for his exceptional interview skills and other attributes, but not as a wrestler because he departed from the wrestling business early to pursue a career in Hollywood.

“He [The Rock] would be except he didn’t stay long enough. I think part of the Mount Rushmore is longevity. It’s hard to be really good and Rock was great but he took off and he’s on my Mount Rushmore for interview skills and everything else. I remained very close to him… He just had that unbelievable amount of charisma. God! What a great guy.”

Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE has no plan for The Rock to make a return to face Roman Reigns, especially at WrestleMania. That match is already booked, and the plan is in place for their direction. If you can read the writing on the walls, it is quite apparently, and The Rock will return to Hollywood once their strike totally ends.

We will have to see if The Rock ever makes a return to WWE for another one-off appearance, or whether he even wrestles another match. Odds are, he isn’t going to come back for another run at this point in his career. After all, a lot of people’s livelihoods rely on him staying healthy and taking bumps is a good way to risk that.
