WWE made home for NXT on Tuesday nights, and there is a lot of hype for tonight’s episode due to the brand going head-to-head with AEW Dynamite – something that hasn’t happened in a year. NXT has also featured guest appearances from main roster talent and will do so for tonight’ show, which has prompted Paul Heyman to defend WWE’s decision.
WWE has been promoting NXT’s October 10th episode in a major way and fans wouldn’t be surprised if NXT defeats Dynamite in ratings. After all, WWE has loaded up the show with appearances from Paul Heyman, John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Asuka and a possible appearance from The Undertaker.
While speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Paul Heyman talked about making his way to NXT. The Wiseman made it clear that NXT’s guest appearances are being done to highlight the talent pool that is prevalent in WWE’s developmental brand.
”The guest appearances on this show are merely to call attention to the enormously gifted talent pool that is offered to the viewer on a weekly basis every Tuesday night. I would humbly suggest this NXT roster can compete with any claim there has ever been a more significant or more talented roster.”
WWE is already calling this week’s episode of NXT the biggest in the history of the brand. We will have to wait and see whether all the guest appearances will help the show get more than a million viewers in the end.
