WWE has several different contract types that they can offer Superstars and legends. Just because someone is no longer appearing on television for the company doesn’t mean that they have nothing to do with WWE.

During the ’80s and ’90s, Lex Luger was a prominent figure in WWE and WCW. With his move from WWE to WCW on the first episode of WCW Nitro marking a significant moment in the Monday Night War. Naturally, the Narcissist has a lot of pro wrestling history attached to his name.

Lex Luger has now joined the AdFreeShows podcast network, where he will host the monthly podcast Lex Expressed exclusively on the Patreon platform. In the inaugural episode, Luger mentioned that he remains under contract with WWE as an ambassador.

“Well, of course, I’m still an ambassador, which is a great program with WWE. They have some things they send us out on and we’re involved with behind the scenes.”

Later on during the podcast, Lex Luger expressed that he now feels more like a wrestling fan than he did during his active wrestling career. He also stated his enjoyment of watching both AEW and WWE, emphasizing that his WWE contract is still in effect.

“I’m a fan now. I feel like more part of the wrestling family now than I did when I was wrestling. I feel like I’ve come full circle. When I go to the comic cons and the fans come up, and they bring their kids, and they say, ‘Hey, this is who I watched when I was your age,’ it’s generational. Wrestling fans, I don’t know how else to explain it, they’re just special, and I feel like I’m a fan now. I watch what’s happening in AEW and WWE, even though I’m under contract with WWE, I love it. I’m like going from being a performer to a wrestling fan now and I feel like I’m part of that special family.”

Despite not having wrestled since 2006 and primarily using a wheelchair for mobility in recent years, Lex Luger has expressed his desire to stand and walk across the stage for his WWE Hall of Fame induction in the future. Only time will tell if that happens, but he certainly has a lot of fans pulling for him.
