Adam Copeland made his big debut for AEW at WrestleDream in Seattle. That was quite a moment for fans, but the company didn’t call him “Edge” for a very good reason. Apparently, MJF didn’t get the memo.

During the media scrum after AEW WrestleDream, MJF was asked about Adam Copeland joining AEW. He said that if Copeland thinks that he is going to get his AEW World Title, then he has another thing coming. Then The Devil got serous as he spoke about the strength of AEW’s roster.

In the process, MJF accidentally used a name that AEW doesn’t own. So, Tony Khan had to step in and correct him.

“I don’t care, so I’m just gonna say it, I think that right now bell to bell right now we have the best professional wrestling rosters ever in the history of the sport. It’s f*cking insane. Holy sh*t. We have MJF, Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay (when he’s around — schmuck), Darby Allin, Christian Cage, Edge –“

That is when Tony Khan inserted a, “woah, woah, woah.” MJF quickly corrected himself and said, “Adam Copeland,” before finishing his list of amazing AEW talent with Malakai Black, Miro, Will Hobbs, Claudio, and Eddie Kingston.

In the end, MJF said that he’s very proud to be on top of AEW when they have a roster like they have. Obviously, AEW is in great shape right now when it comes to their roster, and only time will tell what’s next for everyone involved.

It should be noted that Edge’s name is owned by WWE. Adam Copeland is his legal name, so they can use that. Also, the name Rated R Superstar, as Ringside News reported, was abandoned and the trademark is marked as “dead.” That is why AEW is allowed to use it.
