Jon Moxley Pushing Hard For AEW to Sign Sami Callihan

Sami Callihan was considered one of the most significant stars in Impact Wrestling, as he was part of numerous iconic moments in the company’s history. His time with the company is over and he is now officially a free agent. Now it appears Jon Moxley and others are pushing hard for AEW to sign Sami Callihan.

As previously reported, Sami Callihan would part ways with Impact Wrestling once his contract expired. Callihan even made it clear he was open to bookings after his contract expired on September 30th.

He is now officially a free agent and free to sign with any company. According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, several AEW stars, most notably Jon Moxley, are pushing AEW to sign Sami Callihan.

“After years with IMPACT Wrestling, Callihan is now gone from the company in which he became a world champion. We’re told there doesn’t appear to be any ill will from either side, but a deal was not reached, and Callihan left.

Several AEW stars, most notably Jon Moxley, are pushing to get Sami Callihan signed with AEW following his free agency. Callihan & Moxley have maintained a great relationship that dates back to their time together on the indies.

We’ve heard Sami’s name tossed around in producer roles for other companies as well, as he’s met success running Pro Wrestling Revolver as well. We’ll be speaking with Sami this week.

Jon Moxley and Sami Callihan have known each other for several years. They worked together long before they became established in professional wrestling. Their team was known as the Switchblade Conspiracy and they worked together in CWZ. 

Sami Callihan also recently hinted at reuniting with Jon Moxley after he leaves Impact Wrestling. With AEW WrestleDream set to take place on October 1st, we’ll have to see whether Callihan will join the company in the end
