Former AEW International Champion Jon Moxley is currently uncleared for in-ring competition following his title loss to Rey Fenix at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. Tony Khan made the announcement on social media platform “x” this evening.

Last week at #AEWDynamite Grand Slam, @ReyFenixMx won the International Title. Both Fenix + former champ @JonMoxley were injured in the bout.
AEW Doctors are unable to clear Mox tonight, but moments ago they DID clear Fenix, who will defend his title in an Open Challenge TONIGHT!

The match, which ended with Fenix becoming the new champion, saw both competitors sustain injuries.

While Moxley is still awaiting medical clearance, Rey Fenix has received the green light and will defend his AEW International Championship on the September 27 episode of AEW Dynamite. He will issue an open challenge to any potential challenger.
