Mustafa Ali was released from WWE, but the story is not over for him. He’s not in his 40s, and he knows that he has a good career ahead of him. Only time will tell where he makes the most of his opportunities, but AEW could be an option.

During Wrestling Obsever Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Mustafa Ali and Dolph Ziggler are the two most likely upcoming AEW signees. Bryan Danielson’s connection with Mustafa Ali could really help move that process along as well.

“[Mustafa Ali] is 37, he kinda knows his time is running out. He knows he’s good, but he never got the chance, but again, the fact he’ll hard, you know everyone on that roster will work hard — Yeah Danielson likes him, and that’s a plus. I think that’s why I think that [Mustafa Ali is going to AEW], because Danielson has Tony Khan’s ear. He’s got a good shot, but again, they have so many guys that they do nothing with now. You don’t want to add a bunch of guys, you don’t want to add a bunch of guys over 40.”

Bryan Danielson insisted on working with Mustafa Ali when he was with WWE. He tried his best to get him a push, but things worked out as they did. If Danielson can get another chance to help elevate Ali, this time in AEW, he might just take that opportunity.

It was also noted that Dolph Ziggler could be someone that Tony Khan has a ton of interest in as well. Only time will tell how many of the last crop of releases end up in AEW, but their track record certainly indicates that we will see a few former Superstars become All Elite.

What’s your take on AEW signing up wrestlers that WWE just released? Who do you think Tony Khan should sign out of this recent crop? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
