Recently, a wrestling incident in Tijuana, Baja, California raised concerns as it put fans in potential danger, leading to repercussions for four luchadors.

The Tijuana Wrestling Commission took action by suspending DMT Azul, Fishman Jr., Hereje, and Halloween Jr. for six months, following their actions during a September 10 show.

For those not aware, these wrestlers engaged in a brawl that spilled into the crowd, with Fishman Jr. even grabbing a glass bottle. The commission officials present at the venue decided to halt the match due to concerns for the safety of the fans. The situation escalated when the match unofficially continued outside of the arena, seemingly to bypass the commission’s directives.

While no fans were reported injured, this isn’t the first time DMT Azul has been involved in such an incident. Previously, he had a chaotic brawl with AAA luchador Forasero at Arena Lopes Mateo in Mexico City. Unlike the Tijuana incident, this brawl led to a fan getting involved, with Azul ultimately attacking him.

As of now, the suspension applies only in Tijuana, allowing Azul and the other three luchadors to continue wrestling in other states in Mexico. Among the four, DMT Azul is the most recognizable, with a wrestling career that spanned CMLL from 2008 to 2021 and AAA from 2021 to April 2023.

“The Tijuana wrestling commission has suspended DMT Azul, Fishman Jr, Hereje & Halloween Jr for 6 months.”

“Stems from a match where they brawled amongst the fans while ignoring the commission requesting they return to the ring + Fishman Jr bringing a bottle into the ring.”

Fishman Jr. and Halloween Jr. are both second-generation luchadors, with their respective fathers, Fishman and Halloween, being lucha legends. Halloween Jr. is particularly remembered for his stint in WCW as Ciclope.

What are your thoughts on the suspension of DMT Azul, Fishman Jr., Hereje, and Halloween Jr. following the incident in Tijuana? Do you think such actions are necessary to ensure the safety of wrestling fans? Leave us a comment below.
