Samoa Joe is one of the most legitimate professional wrestlers in the world, whose toughness inside and outside the squared circle is well known. He was also involved in a now-infamous segment with MJF back in NXT quite a few years ago. Now it appears Joe disclosed how the segment came to be.

Samoa Joe and MJF had a major brawl at AEW All Out after Joe shoved MJF following his tag team match, which was a homage to what he did seven years go during an NXT TakeOver event in Brooklyn.

While speaking with the New York Post, Samoa Joe talked about how his segment with MJF at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn happened. It ultimately fell on Joe ensuring MJF did something memorable with the air time he had.

“I always feel like if you’re gonna take up screen time at least be somewhat interesting. We were walking down the hallway. He was maybe doing too good of a job trying to clear things out. I put him up into the wall. I think after everyone kind of took a look at it and had a hilarious chuckle and it ended up sticking around and staying.

I think it was close to live where we had a little bit of a delay because we were running (video) packages and stuff like that. By the time it got to the truck it was gonna be broadcast pretty shortly afterward and they were all about it.”

MJF is set to defend his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe at AEW Grand Slam this week. We will have to wait and see whether The Salt of The Earth will be able to retain his title against The Samoan Submission Machine.

What’s your opinion on what Samoa Joe had to say? Do you think he will be able to defeat MJF this week? Let us know in the comments!
