Ace Steel was producer for AEW, but he was fired after his involvement in Brawl Out over a year ago. He was brought back as part of CM Punk’s return to the company, but now that Punk is gone, there is nobody pulling for him. Now his time with AEW is over again.

Ace Steel wasn’t allowed to actually go to the venue at Collision, but CM Punk insisted that he pick up a paycheck as he worked remotely. Now, it appears that there is no need for his services.

PW Insider reports that Ace Steel has been released from AEW. This went down earlier today.

Following the termination of CM Punk this past weekend, PWInsider.com has learned that Chris Guy aka Ace Steel was released by AEW earlier today.

The report also noted that, “There had been talk over the last month that AEW was looking into a space in Florida for Steel to train and work with talents, but that obviously, will not come to pass.”

Ace Steel, the original trainer of Punk and Colt Cabana, joined the company as a Coach/Producer after his release from WWE, where he served as a Performance Center Coach and NXT Producer. He appeared on camera alongside Punk in the lead-up to the All Out 2022 PPV, during which Punk had a backstage altercation with The Elite. Steel, whose wife was present, became involved and accused Kenny Omega of biting him.

Following the incident, Steel was the only person released from the company, but Punk advocated for his return. Initially intended to work as Punk’s Coach/Producer, the company later decided that Steel would not be physically present at AEW Collision tapings. This led to a delay in announcing Punk’s return as both sides resolved the matter, allowing Steel to work remotely via Zoom calls.
