Thunder Rosa has been out of action for quite some time. She’s been around, on Busted Open Radio, and making appearances on the Spanish language commentary table for AEW. That in-ring hiatus is about to end.

Thunder Rosa was AEW Women’s World Champion when her hiatus started. That caused a few issues with the women’s division, and it was all documented on the company’s AEW All Access reality television show.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Thunder Rosa’s in-ring return is expected soon. It wasn’t noted when, but “any time” could indicate as soon as this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite or Collision.

Fightful Select has been told that Thunder Rosa could return to the ring at almost “any time,” provided creative is produced for her. Rosa had spoken to some at this past weekend’s Starrcast, and sources within AEW indicated that she is ready to return. Whether or not she does imminently remains to be seen.

Thunder Rosa has been out of action for 13 months, with her last match taking place in early August 2022. She had to relinquish the AEW Women’s World Championship prior to AEW All Out 2022. In recent times, she has been part of the Spanish language commentary team. There was a backstage segment hinting at her return to Collision before the event was officially announced, but she hasn’t made any on-screen appearances since that time.

We will have to see how long it takes for Thunder Rosa to make a return to the ring. She certainly has a lot more to give, and after an in-ring hiatus, odds are she really wants to end that break from competition.
