A match that was discussed but ultimately didn’t take place at AEW’s record-breaking All In London 2023 event has been unveiled by Chris Jericho during recent episode of Talk Is Jericho.

Jericho discussed various aspects of the historic All In event at Wembley Stadium, including his match against Will Ospreay and the circumstances surrounding CM Punk’s departure from AEW. However, one intriguing detail he shared was about a match that was considered for the All In card, pitting two former members of the Jericho Appreciation Society against each other.

According to Jericho, there was a proposal for Sammy Guevara to face Daniel Garcia at All In, but it didn’t come to fruition. Despite not having a match, Sammy Guevara was present at the event and accompanied Jericho to the ring. Jericho wanted Guevara to experience the electric atmosphere of the record-breaking crowd. Jericho explained:

“I wanted Sammy out there with me to continue our storyline. I also wanted him to be able to feel that.

“I know he wanted to wrestle, and there was at one point an idea to do Daniel Garcia versus Sammy, but we just, you know, you can’t do everything on the show. I wanted him to be able to feel it, and when he was out there after Judas, like, ‘This is f**king great, man, this is great.’

“You can see him kind of jumping up and down, so he feels it, right? He wants to be on the show next year, but now he knows what it feels like to just be in that atmosphere and around that mass of humanity.

“So I have no doubt that Sammy will be on the show next year for sure…”

While it appeared that Jericho and Guevara were headed for a split on a recent episode of Dynamite, the long-term allies have now set their sights on pursuing the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Their journey begins with a match against former ROH Tag Team Champions Aussie Open on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite in Indianapolis, Indiana.
