Eddie Kingston was apparently the individual that recently influenced a notable presentation change on AEW Dynamite.

During the May 15 edition of AEW Dynamite, Kazuchika Okada defeated FTR’s Dax Harwood to retain the AEW Continental Championship in the main event. Ahead of the match, Renee Paquette once again offered a sideline report regarding Dax’s feelings going into the bout.

This sideline report is part of a recent trend where Renee Paquette provides updates from the backstage area or entranceway before AEW Continental Championship matches. During the premiere episode of “Meal & A Match,” Renee Paquette revealed that this presentation change was an idea from Eddie Kingston. She stated:

“Eddie is the best ever. Legit one of my favs to watch. Fun fact: the reason I get to do those sideline reports during Continental Championship matches is because of Eddie requesting it.”

Eddie Kingston has been a significant figure in AEW, having become the first-ever AEW Continental Champion by winning the title in the Continental Classic tournament at the end of 2023. His influence extends beyond his in-ring performances, as demonstrated by his impact on the show’s presentation elements.

Currently, Eddie Kingston is out of action after possibly breaking his leg in his No Rope Last Man Standing Match against Gabe Kidd for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship at NJPW Resurgence. Fans eagerly await his recovery and eventual return to the ring.
