Sylvester Stallone is still one of the world’s biggest names in Hollywood, but he never forgot about his time with Terry Funk. The Rocky star found the time to drop a touching tribute to the late pro wrestling legend after his passing.

Terry Funk might have lit up the ring for his entire life, but he was also in Road House and was a stuntman on some of Sly Stallone’s films. Needless to say, the Texas native led an amazing life, full of exciting locations, but he never lost his roots.

Sylvester Stallone posted on his Instagram account to his over 16 million followers, and he dropped a touching tribute for Terry Funk. He said that the Funker was “tough as leather,” and that was very true in many ways.

Rest in peace Terry Funk. A great wrestler, a witty man, and tough as leather. You were one of a kind!!

Terry Funk’s last match was on September 23rd, 2017. That was a 6-man tag team match with The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express as they defeated Brian Christopher, Doug Gilbert and Jerry Lawler in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Even to his final days, he never lost his personality.

It’s amazing to know how many people Terry Funk influenced over his life. His influence was felt outside the pro wrestling bubble, as he made several film appearances and made plenty of friends along the way.
