During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Billy Gunn “will be back” in AEW. That means his retirement angle is all a part of the show, and he is not really retiring from in-ring competition.

Billy Gunn is already a WWE Hall of Famer as part of DX. His name meant a lot to pro wrestling fans even before AEW opened their doors. That being said, his story will continue in AEW, but fans will have to watch how this plays out.

The Acclaimed were shocked when Billy Gunn left his boots in the middle of the ring. Nobody saw that moment coming, and it led to some immediate memories about some of Billy Gunn’s greatest moments in the ring, all that scissoring included.

We will keep a close eye on this situation, right here at Ringside News. If anything, we know that the Acclaimed and Billy Gunn’s story is not over by a long shot. With AEW All In London and AEW All Out both coming at fans in a matter of weeks, it’s anyone’s guess what Tony Khan will book this angle.
