Edge brings WWE fans to a frenzy thanks to his iconic entrance music and charisma. Now, the Rated R Superstar is gearing up for a special match upon his anticipated return to television this month. This could be a nice note at the end of his WWE Hall of Fame career.

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Edge’s WWE debut, a significant event is set to take place on the August 18 SmackDown at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, his hometown in Ontario, Canada.

BWE tweeted out to say that there are talks underway regarding a “celebratory match” for Edge on the upcoming SmackDown in Toronto. While the chosen opponent hasn’t been officially confirmed, Edge has singled out a few potential wrestlers, with speculation leaning towards one of his “old mates,” excluding Randy Orton. Specific details remain scarce.

The announcement of Edge’s appearance on the August 18th SmackDown was made back in June. Following his victory over Damian Priest at a RAW main event in Toronto in August 2022, The Rated R Superstar hinted at retiring during the same show. However, Edge has since expressed his desire for a WWE World Heavyweight Title shot before retirement, currently held by Seth Rollins. The #Edge25 campaign marked the celebration of 25 years since Edge’s debut on June 22, 1998, with festivities continuing on SmackDown’s return to Toronto.
