Roman Reigns was hurt in that SummerSlam match. Naturally, a lot of questions were immediately fired all over social media after that news broke. Reigns is still the top name in WWE, and he brings a ton of attention to every step of the Bloodline’s saga.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall to confirm that Roman Reigns was hurt during his SummerSlam match. That being said, the company is being very tight-lipped about things.

Tuesday morning, Wrestling Observer reported that Roman Reigns got hurt early in the match with Jey Uso at WWE Summerslam. Fightful Select has since confirmed that news. However, he is still planned for WWE Smackdown this Friday.

After SummerSlam, word came out that Reigns was not advertised for any WWE TV episodes over the next few months. However, we did confirm that Reigns was planned for this Friday’s Smackdown, and as of now, there aren’t plans for him to miss his internally scheduled appearances. That could always change.

WWE hasn’t responded to our official inquiries regarding Reigns, but we’ve heard the same that Observer did about it happening early on. There were those who would likely be in the know in a creative capacity for Smackdown who hadn’t even heard about the injury until word emerged Tuesday.

It is also worth noting that, “as of Tuesday afternoon, it hadn’t changed creative.” Only time will tell what is next for Roman Reigns at this point, because Paul Heyman said they are only in the bottom of the 3rd inning of their storyline.

We will have to see what happens with this situation. The good news is that Roman Reigns doesn’t wrestle a full-time schedule, so even if he’s hurt he might be able to heal up between matches. Keep checking back with Ringside News for constant updates.
