During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer cleared up what happened with Rey Mysterio on SmackDown. It seems that Mysterio was already knocked silly, and that suicide dive from Santos Escobar was simply used as an excuse to pull the plug on the match early.

So, he’s fine. He did the match with Santos Escobar. I was told it was a move by Santos that knocked Rey silly, but it was not the dive. The dive was the excuse to call the match off. They had already decided to call the match, and the dive was an out they used to call off the match.

It was noted that Rey Mysterio was “dizzy before” that suicide dive move. He doesn’t have a concussion, and he is fine. So, that worrisome matter should be water under the bridge at this point.

It seems that Rey Mysterio is going to be okay at this point. Hopefully, he is able to rest up and get back to action without any hesitation. If anything, he might want a rematch with Santos Escobar, so they can finish things in their match between LWO members.

Now, Santos Escobar will battle Austin Theory for the United States Title in two weeks. Thankfully, Rey Mysterio is seemingly going to be just fine after the scary moment where that SmackDown match was called early.

Rey Mysterio has accomplished a lot in his pro wrestling career, but do you want to see him in another title run? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
