The Way comprised Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell, Austin Theory and Dexter Lumis and they had a solid run in NXT a couple of years ago. After repeated teases for a long time, they finally had a reunion almost three months ago but rarely appeared after that. Now it appears Vince McMahon scrapped plans for the faction.

As seen on the May 8th episode of Monday Night RAW, The Way reunited during the show as part of a backstage segment. Obviously, this made many fans happy as they were a fan-favorite in NXT.

Even reports suggested WWE had big plans for The Way. Fans simply wanted the faction to reunite and appear regularly on WWE television in a big way, but nothing of that sort happened.

According to Sean Ross Sapp during a Fightful Select Q&A session, it was revealed that Vince McMahon ended up scrapping all plans for The Way. That said, due to McMahon’s recent spine surgery, there might be a chance the plans will get underway.

“It effectively got Vince’d, but with Vince’s situation now (the surgery), I wonder if that will finally come to fruition.”

We will have to wait and see whether WWE will finally have big plans for The Way, as fans would love nothing more than to see everyone together again.
