Scorpio Sky is considered one of the most gifted in-ring competitors in all of AEW. He also held the TNT Title for a decent length of time before dropping it last year. He came back from injury recently but it appears he is out of action due to a freak accident injury.

A match for AEW Rampage that was taped on July 26 was nixed due to Injury, as Tony Khan came out and made the announcement during this week’s taping.

Scorpio Sky was supposed to square off against Kip Sabian during the July 28th episode. However, Tony Khan announced that Sky won’t compete due to injury. Komander ended up replacing Sky.

According to Sean Ross Sapp on a Fightful Select Q&A session, it was revealed that Scorpio Sky was spotted on crutches at the taping. It was noted that Sky had a ‘freak accident.’

“A freak accident is what I’ve been told. Just an absolute freak accident and nobody knows how long he’ll be out. He was on crutches at the show.”

Sky recently made his return from injury to AEW, squaring off against Action Andretti on the July 8 episode of AEW Collision. We’ll have to wait and see when Sky will be able to return to in-ring competition.
