WWE’s Current Plan For Free Agents In NXT

WWE has three rosters full of talent, but they also created a buffer for themselves with a handful of Superstars that can travel between every brand. That being said, some fans are wondering about the status of two NXT Superstars who were supposedly getting their shot on RAW or SmackDown.

Free agents after the 2023 WWE Draft included Brock Lesnar, Omos, Von Wagner, Mustafa Ali, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, Cedric Alexander , Shelton Benjamin, Apollo Crews, and Xyon Quinn. WWE fans have seen a few of those Superstars pop up in different places at this point.

Baron Corbin and Mustafa Ali are getting a new run in NXT to refresh their characters. Corbin will also be Gable Steveson’s first opponent in WWE, which is notable because he was also Kurt Angle’s final opponent. Having this distinction with Olympic Gold Medalists is certainly another feather in the Lone Wolf’s cap.

That being said, some fans have expressed a bit of disappoint that Xyon Quinn and Von Wagner haven’t made the jump from NXT. They are both still in developmental as far as television is concerned.

Ringside News reached out to inquire about their free agent status. We were told that, at this time, Xyon Quin and Von Wagner are sticking around in NXT. That’s not to say a call-up to RAW or SmackDown won’t happen this year.

WWE fans still have plenty of time left until 2023 is over, and the current rosters will be in place until the next draft. Only time will tell how much distance WWE can get out of their free agent roster at this point, but they are certainly putting a few of them to good use.
