Drew McIntyre is one of the most established WWE Superstars of the past decade, as he won the WWE Championship twice. McIntyre has been back in the fold for almost a month now and it appears WWE has been advised to bully and bury Drew McIntyre on television.
Drew McIntyre made his return during the Money In The Bank Premium Live Event and confronted Gunther before laying him out. Fans were happy to see McIntyre make his first appearance since WrestleMania 39.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray talked about Vince McMahon introducing Drew McIntyre as ‘The Chosen One’ in 2009. Ray stated that he believes McIntyre needs “a prototypical and stereotypical textbook bully-esque character” opposite him and advised WWE to bully and bury McIntyre on television.
“I don’t know who’s out there in WWE who can breathe down Drew’s neck and bring that next evolution of Drew out,” he said. “But I think if we never see it, you’re never going to see Drew go any higher on the card than where he’s at now. You’re never going to hear bigger reactions for Drew McIntyre … unless you get Drew the right opponent.”
Drew McIntyre will battle it out with Gunther at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. We’ll have to wait and see how WWE will book their feud in the coming weeks.
What’s your view on what Bully Ray said? Do you think he has what it takes to defeat Gunther? Let us know in the comments!
