Buff Bagwell made name for himself in WCW before venturing off to WWE, where he didn’t really get to do much at all. Unfortunately, he is more well-known for his personal demons, especially concerning substance abuse and more. Reports recently suggested that Bagwell was arrested for DUI and now it appears Bagwell has clarified this matter.

WWE also has a policy of helping former talent go through rehab, if they ever require it. Buff Bagwell had substance abuse issues as well. However, Bagwell previously said that WWE rejected his request for rehab.

Last year, Buff Bagwell revealed that he had crossed over 100 days of sobriety. Naturally, fans were elated at this positive level of development for the pro wrestling veteran. Fans kept on supporting him no matter what.

Reports have recently revealed that Buff Bagwell was arrested earlier this month for speeding and driving under the influence of drugs. The former WCW star took to Twitter and clarified the whole situation, revealing that the arrest was from an offence committed years ago. Bagwell added that he got a recent sanction because he didn’t document a recent trip out of state properly.

Just wanted to clarify to everyone that I am 11 months sober (tomorrow). I see there is news out that I had to spend time in jail for a DUI but this was from the original offense years ago. I did get a recent sanction because I didn’t document a recent trip out of state properly

It is certainly great to see that Buff Bagwell didn’t fall prey to his demons and is almost a year sober, as fans were very concerned for his well-being. Regardless, we hope Bagwell keeps walking on the right path no matter what.

What’s your opinion on what Buff Bagwell said? Are you glad Bagwell is still sober? Let us know in the comments!
