WWE and AEW are often looking at the same pool of talent. Sometimes, they also have their eyes on talent from the opposing company’s roster. That has become an issue in recent memory.

We previously reported that WWE is being super cautious about approaching AEW talent. This is thanks to the ongoing antitrust lawsuit from MLW.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there are some AEW stars who are actually waiting to hear from WWE right now. Of course, they will have to keep waiting until contract tampering isn’t a concern.

“WWE is very, very leery because of the MLW lawsuit, so they’re not making… if that MLW lawsuit wasn’t there, WWE – and it’s not just these guys (the Elite), there’s other guys that this relates to, that have interest at least in hearing from WWE and in one case interested in going to WWE – and WWE has been uncharacteristically not aggressively trying to steal talent.”

Some AEW stars might still jump ship to WWE, but that won’t happen with any shady deals going on first. It appears that WWE is going to tow the line in a big way, and they aren’t going to risk any further issues with legal threats.

WWE went through a lot of changes with Endeavor decided to merge the company with the UFC. Their new TKO Holdings Group doesn’t need contract tampering on their hands, even if it means they can’t strike up conversations with incredibly talented performers in the meantime.

What’s your take on AEW talent wanting to go to WWE? Which talent do you think is most likely to go? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you think!
