WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long remains one of the most beloved figures in the history of WWE. His comedic timing made him a huge attraction as the Smackdown General Manager. That said, it appears Long has that John Laurinaitis set him up to be fired by WWE.

Long would become arguably the most iconic General Manager, being famous for dancing to his own theme song and having famous catchphrases. This included him booking stars in a match against The Undertaker.

John Laurinaitis is undoubtedly one of the most controversial figures in the history of WWE. Johnny Ace also served as WWE’s Head of Talent relations and also performed in other roles.

While speaking on the latest episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long revealed that he absolutely hated John Laurinaitis in real life and explained why he felt so.

“Well, see, they [on-air segments] were good because he didn’t know I hated him in real life. Yeah, but he didn’t know it. I mean, I have no respect for a man who tried to stop me from feeding my family. A guy that hated me for no reason. I’d never done nothing to him, and to come in my face and laugh and grin, like, it’s unreal, man.

And then, you know, the other thing too, I had the opportunity to be with one of the referees on the road together, and I’ll leave the name out, but he’d come and told me what exactly he was making. As a referee, he was making more money than me, and I’m the General Manager running this company. That was all John Laurinaitis’ deal. Like I told you, man, him and Mark Carrano are the two worst people on the planet.”

Teddy Long’s comments stem from the fact that John Laurinaitis set him up to get fired by WWE in the past. As previously reported, John Laurinaitis was fired by WWE earlier last year. Regardless, Johnny Ace will never be liked by many people and that’s unlikely to ever change.
