Roman Reigns has established himself as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. The Tribal Chief has dominated the competition since his return back in 2020. Reigns is truly infallible at this rate and records simply remain to be broken by him. Now it appears some believe Reigns winning an Emmy award would be an insult to pro wrestling.

Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa squared off against The Usos in a terrific tag team match, which featured a ton of drama and insane action. In the end, Jey Uso did the unthinkable and pinned Roman Reigns – which was Reigns’ first pinfall loss since 2019.

This led to the trial of Roman Reigns for last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown. Roman Reigns teased making Jey Uso the head of the table, but that didn’t happen as he made it clear he will remain The Tribal Chief. Afterwards, Jey Uso challenged him to match at SummerSlam. Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns also hospitalized Jimmy Uso thanks to their vicious assault last week.

While speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, the wrestling veteran talked about the aforementioned segment and discussed if Roman Reigns deserves an Emmy for his acting performance. Cornette made it clear that he believes Reigns winning an Emmy award would be an insult to pro wrestling.

“It’s an insult to what the wrestling business is supposed to be to award anyone publicly for their great acting. But at this point, since the WWE ain’t really the wrestling business anymore and the only interesting thing about it is Roman Reigns’ acting – can we come up with at least a category like ‘Best Acting in a Sports Presentation,’ I don’t know.

30 years ago the [Madison Square Garden] crowd would’ve set the seats on fire if they got the matches at a WWF show that they got on this program and they were happy to pay the highest prices in the history of the world to see it.”

A Rules Of Engagement segment has also been booked for Roman Reigns on next week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown. We will have to wait and see whether The Tribal Chief will end up winning an Emmy Award in the future.

What are your thoughts on what Jim Cornette said? Do you believe Roman Reigns deserves to win an Emmy? Let us know in the comments!
