AEW has a lot of die-hard fans, but there will always be people who are critical about The Elite or All Elite Wrestling in general. Jim Cornette is never one to hold back his thoughts.
A heated exchange has unfolded between Jim Cornette, his podcast co-host Brian Last, and Matt Hardy regarding The Young Bucks and All Elite Wrestling.
Fans shared the following series of statements, presented here in chronological order. It all started with Matt Hardy’s comments about the Elite and their supporters.
Dark Order vs The Elite was a fantastic match. It’s nice to see Dark Order earn such a well deserved spotlight. #AEWRampage
The @youngbucks & Adam Page are extraordinary talents that will unfortunately get their flowers way later than they should.
Between this & the toxic Cornette cult, these guys don’t get the adoration that they truly deserve. The diehard Elite fans are phenomenal & get why they’re special, but there’s a huge chunk of fans that fail to give them the credit they deserve. Give these guys their flowers.
Jim Cornette fired back to say, “Jeez, Matt, I could understand selling your soul for Rock & Roll, but selling it for Adderall? Even if you have to abandon your principles and verbally fellate these childish cretins for your check, leave my fans alone, it’s not their fault Tony’s not paying THEM enough to lie.”
Matt Hardy then replied to say, “Jeez, Jim, haven’t sold my soul, I’m sticking to my principles & telling truths. I feel morally obligated to do right by my friends, altho that’s probably foreign to you. I earn a check because I’m great at what I do & still employable. Keep on seeding dissension amongst fans with your schtick, it’s too sweet!” That snowballed into several back-and-forth messages with Brian Last, which you can check out below.
It appears that this debate will not be over any time soon. Obviously, Matt Hardy is standing by his convictions, and it’s also apparent that he isn’t going to mend any bridge with Jim Cornette right now.
AEW’s booking, and all the surrounding drama, is still capturing the attention of fans all over. Now, those fans have a couple more Twitter accounts that they can pay attention to, because you never know when Matt Hardy, Jim Cornette, and Brian Last will re-spark this online beef.
