Matt Cardona is determined to do his thing, and he has no intentions of quitting, even after his release from WWE in 2020. He is determined to be an indie god, and nothing is going to stop him from achieving that.

Since leaving WWE, Cardona has undergone a reinvention on the independent scene. He has gained significant attention and generated buzz as The Deathmatch King following his memorable and brutal bout against Nick Gage. More recently, Cardona has been enjoying a successful run alongside Steph De Lander as The Indie God. The duo actively engages with fans through social media, regularly posting videos that enhance their characters in the ring.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Cardona discussed his partnership with De Lander and emphasized the success they have achieved through their social media videos.

Matt Cardona expressed his appreciation for the freedom and control he now has over his schedule. He acknowledged that while it would require significant circumstances for him to commit to signing with another promotion, he admitted that he would be dishonest if he claimed to have no desire for another WrestleMania moment.

“I love the freedom, I love controlling my schedule. When you’re in WWE or AEW, you don’t get to make your own schedule. Now I’d be lying if I said I never want to work at Madison Square Garden again or I never wanted another WrestleMania moment. Of course, I do. If I get those phone calls, I’ll have that conversation. But I’m making the most money I’ve ever made, I’m having the most fun, and I’m at the highest level I’ve ever been, so it would take a lot to get me to sign.”

Matt Cardona draws inspiration from his experiences and relentless determination to keep pushing forward, regardless of how many times he has faced setbacks. He firmly reiterated his unwavering commitment to never quitting, emphasizing his strong resolve. In fact, the Internet Champion went as far as stating that he would persist until the end, even if it meant giving everything he has to achieve his goals.

“There is nobody in the history of this business who’s been counted out and came back more than me. I was written off so many times, often by myself. But I’ll never quit. I’ll die attempting to be the version of myself I believe I can be.”

Matt Cardona has a lot of possibilities ahead of him. After all, he’s already achieved a lot in his career. Only time will tell where fans see him next, but he’s going to have a lot of fun in the process.

AEW or WWE might find a use for Matt Cardona, but it also seems that he might have his own path to forge. Where do you want to see Matt Cardona next? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re thinking!
