Logan Paul became one of WWE’s biggest surprises as his athletic ability immediately made him worth talking about in the company. His matches against Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and others further raised his stock to a level that he is well respected by fans and peers alike. WWE has big plans for him and it appears WWE made a last-minute change to Paul’s storyline due to a botched viral moment.

The Maverick competed in the Money In The Bank ladder match and once showed proved why he belongs in Vince McMahon’s company. This includes some dangerous spots, including a splash onto Damian Priest. Despite his best efforts, Logan Paul wasn’t able to win the match.

Logan Paul and Ricochet created a great moment at the Royal Rumble as they collided in midair, but the ‘viral moment’ turned out to be major botch as they narrowly avoided danger. WWE got people talking about the spot, but not in the way they had intended.

Last night, a short video aired on Raw of a backstage brawl between Paul and Ricochet that was said to have taken place in London after the Money in the Bank ladder match. It then led to Ricochet calling out Logan Paul for RAW next week.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE decided to film the brawl angle because of the Spanish Fly spot that ended up botched.

“The idea was that spot that we talked about (the Spanish Fly through the tables) was supposed to be like this viral thing and it would go crazy and that was gonna lead to the match.

And, people did see it, but it wasn’t as smooth to lead to the match so they did that angle (the backstage brawl) instead. They’re gonna shoot the angle next Monday on Raw to lead to the match.

Instead of doing a ‘marquee’ match for Logan Paul, I think they want to get him to do an incredible athletic match, and Ricochet’s your guy if you wanna do that.”

We will have to wait and see how WWE will book Logan Paul and Ricochet’s feud, as their feud has been slowly building up ever since the Royal Rumble match back in January of this year.
