AEW star Andrade El Idolo has made headlines with his recent tributes to his wife, WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair, and her legendary father, Ric Flair.
During the debut of AEW Collision, Andrade showcased his skills by defeating Buddy Matthews, forcing Matthews to submit with Charlotte’s iconic Figure-8 Leg Lock.
The performance caught the attention of Ric Flair, who took to social media to praise his son-in-law as a top-tier performer, placing him in his personal “top 10” list. This recognition from the wrestling legend added to the excitement surrounding Andrade’s debut in AEW.
In a show of support, Charlotte Flair reciprocated the tribute during her recent match on SmackDown by incorporating Andrade’s signature ‘tranquilo’ pose, which is characterized by a relaxed and calm demeanor. This gesture further solidified the connection between the two talented wrestlers.
The homage continued on this past Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision when Andrade attempted to execute the Figure-8 Leg Lock on Brody King. However, before he could fully apply the submission hold, he was interrupted by Buddy Matthews’ attack. Ric Flair once again expressed his enthusiasm for Andrade’s wrestling prowess on Twitter, commending his exceptional performance for the second consecutive week.
