Goldberg had quite a run in WWE as a special attraction, but he never faced Ryback in the ring. That being said, the match was pitched within the company.

Dolph Ziggler recently tweeted out that he wanted to see Goldberg vs Ryback. The Big Guy saw that and later thanked his old friend for the vote of confidence.

During a recent episode of the Roundtable Pro Wrestling podcast, they had Ryback on as a guest. The Big Guy spoke about his career in the ring, and a few other topics. One interesting note that he made came early on, when he revealed that a Goldberg match was pitched.

Ryback explained that he pitched a match against Goldberg to WWE, but it was rejected. Sadly, that match never came to pass, because it would have made some great looking graphics to hype the confrontation.

We will have to see if Goldberg vs Ryback ever goes down. Goldberg is looking for a retirement match, and he doesn’t have an opponent. Only time will tell if his promoter can make that match happen in Israel for the former WCW Champion’s final match in the squared circle.
