WWE is always looking to try something new so that fans can remain engaged with the product. That’s why the company has been on a mission to introduce a variety of new titles over the past month or so. Now it appears the reason behind Triple H introducing new championship belts has been revealed.

Back at Night Of Champions, Seth Rollins won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. More recently, a new belt, the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship belt was introduced. The title carries on the lineage of the original WWE belt.

Right after that, Asuka and Rhea Ripley were given new belts as well. Rhea Ripley was crowned the Women’s World Champion, while Asuka became the WWE Women’s Champion.

According to a report by Justin Barrasso on Sports Illustrated, it was confirmed by multiple sources that Triple H had a reason for changing the championships. He simply wanted to freshen up the designs and present a new look instead.

It was further reported that Roman Reigns’ title supersedes the title Seth Rollins has, especially when it comes to the lineage. Barrasso further noted that there are reasons to keep WWE and Universal Title belts. It is mainly because it would further differentiate ‘The Tribal Chief’ from the other champions.

We will have to wait and see whether the new titles will end up being liked by fans in the long run, as they are certainly not impressed with any of the new titles right now.
