Brian Gewirtz Expects The Rock Will Still Cut ‘Final Boss’ Promos Online During WWE Absence

The Rock’s return to WWE was nothing short of spectacular, as he adopted a heel persona reminiscent of his 90s character and The Hollywood Rock, significantly enhancing the Road to WrestleMania. While he’s currently away from WWE, Brian Gewirtz believes The Rock will continue to cut promos on social media.

The Rock made a significant impact at WrestleMania 40. On Saturday, he teamed with Roman Reigns to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. On Sunday, he made waves again by taking out John Cena, only to be chokeslammed by The Undertaker. He hasn’t been seen on WWE television since the RAW after WrestleMania 40.

While speaking on The Ringer Show, Brian Gewirtz discussed The Rock’s long-form promos on social media. Gewirtz indicated that The Rock won’t completely disappear from WWE, unlike in the past and he stated that he believes The Rock will cut more ‘The Final Boss’ promos on social media occasionally.

“There is definitely a difference between the usual, ‘I’m going to go make a movie and maybe I’ll return,’ to this lingering presence of Dwayne Johnson on the TKO Board of Directors and The Rock essentially now existing in the space that is WWE, who can drop a Final Boss promo on Instagram anytime he wants in relation to a storyline, or tweet something. I don’t think it’s going to be a regular occurrence, but I do think it’s going to happen and it’s great because he’s in it, and by extension, I’m in it too.”

The Rock is expected to wrestle another match in 2024 before WrestleMania 41 as well. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see when The Great One will make his return to the company again.
