AEW is set to debut a brand-new Saturday night television show on June 17th. AEW Collision will also feature the return of CM Punk, but that isn’t a call that everyone would have made.

CM Punk will actually compete during the June 17th AEW Collision premiere episode in a six-man tag team match. That being said, the rest of Collision’s dates haven’t seen ton of ticket sales.

While speaking Ariel Helwani, Eric Bischoff unloaded a bit on AEW and CM Punk’s situation. He was asked about how he would have handled Brawl Out, and Bischoff was quick to admit he would have fired the Second City Savior.

“Yeah, in a hearbeat. I would have grabbed the microphone out of his hand and sent him packing. It’s not worth it.”

It’s a good thing for CM Punk that Eric Bischoff doesn’t call any shots for AEW, because they would have lost a top star. Now, AEW fans get to wait for CM Punk’s return, despite the fact that Easy E would have axed him.

This is certainly an interesting time for AEW, and they have a lot of eyes on them. That being said, it might not be for the best reason. Only time will tell how this situation pans out for CM Punk’s second run in AEW, but he certainly has a lot of attention.

What’s your take on CM Punk’s return to AEW? Is this a good idea? Sound off in the comments!
