Brock Lesnar is a multi-time World Champion and dominated the world of professional wrestling as well as combat sports. For a long time, fans wondered when Lesnar would end his career and it appears that Lesnar believed WrestleMania 36 would be his last match.

Back in the 2020 Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre went on to win the match as he toppled a dominant Brock Lesnar and booked his ticket to WrestleMania 36. The Scottish Warrior then challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the event.

The match turned out to be a very short affair, as Drew McIntyre kicked out of numerous F5s while delivering several Claymore kicks before he finally felled The Beast to become the champion.

While speaking on the Tetragrammaton podcast, Paul Heyman talked about Brock Lesnar’s departure from WWE following WrestleMania 36. Heyman stated that Lesnar believed his career was over after the match.

“So when Brock’s contract came due, and we’re in the middle of the pandemic, it doesn’t make any sense for WWE to do what they had done every year, which is, ‘Yeah, we know this was your final year, but if you’d consider, we’re gonna throw more money at you. Give us another year of this. This was a year where that wasn’t going to happen, because there was no way to get a return on the investment. So Brock went back to Saskatchewan, and in his mind, that was the end. He was done.”

Brock Lesnar last defeated Cody Rhodes at WWE Night Of Champions and is expected to finish his trilogy match with The American Nightmare at SummerSlam this year. It remains to be seen how WWE will book their feud by then.
