Orange Cassidy’s Current AEW Run Compared To The Undertaker

The Undertaker blazed a path in pro wrestling that cannot be touched. Now, after the Deadman settled into his retirement years, fans are looking for the next Phenom. Although Taker is impossible to replace, there could be a contender in AEW.

During an episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, a surprising comparison was made by Matt Hardy himself. He compared the impact of the current AEW International Champion, Orange Cassidy, to The Undertaker.

As Matt Hardy reflected on his thoughts about Orange Cassidy, he expressed admiration for the unique style and character that Cassidy brings to the ring. As he drew a parallel to The Undertaker, Hardy highlighted the impact and popularity that both stars have achieved in their respective careers.

“Orange Cassidy is tremendous. He’s at the top of the list when it comes to performers in AEW. He’s out there playing a character that is not easy to do, but he’s very committed to the gig.

“I can tell you how much I respect someone who does that because I did that as Broken Matt Hardy.”

“The thing that attracts him to so many fans is the persona. It’s the whole Orange Cassidy shtick.

“He’s one of the best wrestlers in the industry right now. He has great confidence in knowing what he needs to do — to make the character excel, grow, and connect with people.”

“In some ways, Orange Cassidy to Tony [Khan], at this stage right now, reminds me of the relationship between Vince McMahon and The Undertaker

This comparison serves as proof of the growing reputation and influence of Orange Cassidy within AEW. OC also apparently has the respect of his peers backstage.

Only time will tell how much longer Orange Cassidy has in AEW. Obviously, he is on a very hot streak, and one of Tony Khan’s go-to stars. It would also be interesting to see if WWE might be interested to what Freshly Squeezed brings to the table eventually.
