Sammy Guevara became one of the most beloved stars in AEW, mainly thanks to his solid in-ring prowess. He was largely a hated heel and person in general last year thanks to his relationship with Tay Melo. Things are better now for The Spanish God as he is going to be a father soon. That said, it appears he was more nervous about their pregnancy reveal than Guevara’s AEW World Title match.

Sammy Guevara competed in the biggest match of his career last week at AEW Double or Nothing, as he squared off against MJF, Darby Allin and ‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry in a Fatal four-way match for the AEW World Championship.

During his entrance, Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo revealed that they are expecting their first child this year. Naturally, this was major news and everyone in attendance was happy for them.

While speaking to TMZ Sports, Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo revealed that they wanted to make the pregnancy announcement creatively. Guevara also noted that he was more nervous about the pregnancy reveal than the match itself.

“I was personally more excited for the entrance. I feel like we were like opposite. She was more nervous for me for the match, and I was more nervous, excited for the entrance.

I had to snap out of it. I almost started crying. It was just very surreal. Us four young guys, wrestling for the world title and then right before that, going out there and announcing we’re having a baby.

The crowd’s coming back around on me. We were not always the most loved people out there. For them to give us that big reaction. Everyone’s happy, showing us the love. It was just like, overwhelming in a way where I was like, ok, we gotta get back into it.”

Tay Melo also made it clear that she will return to the squared circle after she gives birth and is physically ready. Till then, it remains to be seen what AEW has planned for Sammy Guevara.
