The Young Bucks remain one of the mainstays of AEW television and they are never afraid of putting their bodies on the line for the entertainment of fans. Matt Jackson, in particular, knows how to take a lot of punishment and that’s what happened at Double Or Nothing. Now it appears he needed special permission for his exploding superkick during Double Or Nothing.

Earlier this month, the feud between The Elite and The Blackpool Combat Club reached a whole new level after Don Callis betrayed Kenny Omega during Omega’s steel cage match against Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite.

Violence was the central theme in their feud, as it carried on during the Anarchy In The Arena match at AEW Double Or Nothing. During an instance of the match, Matt Jackson delivered an exploding superkick to Jox Moxley during the match, which shocked fans.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Matt Jackson had thought of the exploding superkick spot “about a month ago.” It was further added that Jackson wanted to “do something that hadn’t been done”.

The spot also needed Jackson to get a Nevada State Fire Performers license. The license is mandatory for any performers who use pyrotechnics as part of their presentation.

Matt Jackson also got hurt pretty badly during the Anarchy in The Arena match at Double Or Nothing and even showed off his bloody wounds afterwards. We will have to wait and see what AEW has planned for The Elite next, after what transpired at Double Or Nothing and the subsequent Dynamite.
