There is no doubt that Bryan Danielson is one of the most established names in the world of professional wrestling right now. He is also viewed as a very harmless vegan outside the squared circle and largely maintains that image as well. That said, it appears he holds a bizarre internal record in WWE.

The American Dragon spent several years working in WWE as one of their top stars and towards the end of his run, Bryan Danielson was even part of WWE Creative as he earned the respect of many in the company.

Bryan Danielson was forced to retire from in-ring action and it was believed he would never wrestle again. However, he made his in-ring return in March 2018. Danielson stayed with the company for another three years before leaving for AEW when his contract expired.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that Danielson currently holds the unique record of being signed to a three-year WWE contract that actually lasted for seven years.

“Bliss noted that she hopes to return to wrestle in 2024 and that WWE had extended her contract, basically freezing it from the time she stopped. At least she knows that since a lot of the talent that had asked to leave over the years were hit with the idea that when they thought their contract was up, it wasn’t because of it being frozen. Bliss didn’t appear to have any issue with it. The record was Bryan Danielson signing a three-year deal that ended up lasting seven years.”

Bryan Danielson is also part of the Creative team in AEW and recently explained his role as well. Regardless, Danielson is having a great time in Tony Khan’s company and that’s all that matters.
