CM Punk showed up backstage at the Impact Wrestling television taping event in Chicago, and nobody expected to see him. The Second City Savior also apparently had a great time and even had a round of cards.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that CM Punk actually played a round of Uno with some of the Impact Wrestling stars while he was backstage. This is a far cry from how he was ejected from backstage before WWE RAWA.

CM Punk was backstage at IMPACT Wrestling, and played a round of Uno. While Punk made his latest stop at a company that wasn’t All Elite Wrestling, we learned a little more about his time there, which did in fact involve playing Uno with an IMPACT talent.

It was also reported that, “Punk spoke with over a dozen IMPACT wrestlers, and exchanged pleasantries while there. We’re told in particular he had some kind words for a couple of wrestlers that he met there. Everyone said that he was pleasant, in a good mood, and happy to be there.”

It should also be noted that this is the same week that Punk showed up at a WWE event for the first time in 9+ years, “it was the first time he was at an IMPACT/TNA show that we know of in 19+ years.”

The report also noted that, “there are no plans for Punk to do any kind of work with IMPACT Wrestling, and he’s still slated to lead the AEW Collision brand starting in June.” Obviously, there were some Impact Wrestling die-hards that were hoping that CM Punk was coming in, but that’s not the case. He did enjoy a round of cards backstage though.
