Cody Rhodes was immediately presented as a major star after returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and in just a span of one year, he went on to main event WrestleMania 39 this year. However, he did not get the ending that fans wanted and now it appears Rhodes believes it was an injustice.

The American Nightmare challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Sunday. Fans all over the world believed Rhodes to be the one to finally dethrone Reigns.

However, that was not the case as Roman Reigns won the match after numerous interferences from The Bloodline. Cody Rhodes’ loss infuriated many fans and pro wrestlers alike.

While speaking ahead of night one of the WWE Draft in a post-match promo at a live event in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Cody Rhodes stated that his WrestleMania 39 loss was an injustice which he intends on avenging.

“What happened to me at #WrestleMania in Hollywood, is an injustice that I 100% intend on avenging.”

It doesn’t matter what brand I’m on.”

Cody Rhodes is set to square off against Brock Lesnar at WWE Backlash next month. Only time will tell whether Rhodes will be able to exact revenge on Roman Reigns somewhere down the line. Till then, he has to contend with The Beast Incarnate.
