WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ was a night of memorable moments and solid matches, but nothing everything went according to plan in the show. This is due to multiple injuries taking place throughout the night, including Indi Hartwell. Now it appears WWE almost crowned a new champion after Hartwell’s injury.

NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell defended her title against Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne Perez in a ladder match during NXT Spring Breakin’. As previously reported, Hartwell suffered an ankle injury during the match and fans were worried for her due to that.

The injury took place when Hartwell landed awkwardly on her ankle while on the receiving end of a tope off the turnbuckle from Stratton. She was rushed to the back and it became a one-on-one match between the other competitors. Thankfully, Hartwell returned towards the end and picked up the win after nailing a lariat on Roxanne Perez.

According to Bryan Alvarez, WWE almost planned on crowning Tiffany Stratton as the new NXT Women’s Champion after Indi Hartwell’s injury. Of course, that did not happen in the end.

”They actually changed the finish to Tiffany winning after Indi got hurt, but then Indi managed to make it back out to do the planned finish.”

We will have to wait and see whether Indi Hartwell’s injury is a serious one and if she will have to take time off due to the ankle injury. After all, fans just want Hartwell to have a long reign as the champion.

What’s your take on Indi Hartwell? Are you glad she is still the champion? Sound off in the comments!
