This year’s WWE Draft will get started on the April 28th episode of SmackDown and finish up on the May 1st episode of Monday Night Raw. Every eligible Superstar will be up for the Draft, and that opens up a ton of options. There will also be a hard brand split this year, even with new World Heavyweight Title introduced to keep champions on their own brand. That being said, the hard brand split is not 100% a WWE idea.

Ringside News reached out to clarify WWE’s plan and reasoning for a hard brand split this time around. We are told that the television networks are “a major factor” in this choice. With television rights deals heating up, WWE needs to keep their network partners happy.

USA Network and FOX pay a ton of money for WWE programming, and they want Superstars exclusive to those brands. That being said, they are adamant that their money goes to locking down Superstars to keep them exclusive.

Ringside News already exclusively reported that USA Network actually wants Roman Reigns and the Bloodline faction over a new World Heavyweight Title belt. That being said, we have to see how things come out in the wash when the draft settles.

Ringside News exclusively reported couple of weeks ago that Vince McMahon has had no say in the 2023 Draft at that time. Then again, it’s still his company, so Mr. McMahon could always swoop in whenever he wants and switch things up. We also exclusively reported that the 2023 WWE Draft had no bearing on Vince McMahon’s return to the company, or vice versa.

Also, Ringside News exclusively reported that if Vince McMahon has been involved in the 2023 WWE Draft so far, the creative team isn’t aware of it. We are told that if McMahon is making suggestions or changes, then he is going straight to Triple H, Bruce Prichard, or Ed Koskey to hand over those alterations.

We will have complete coverage of the 2023 WWE Draft right here at Ringside News. This could be an exciting time for WWE fans, and the rosters are guaranteed to look different in a very short period of time.
